Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of “Gone with the Wind”

Gone with the Wind is an all-time favorite book and movie for so many. Luckily for us, Dianne West (daughter of resident Florence Reneau) and Nancy Peters were kind enough to come in and spend time with our residents. Nancy has been collecting Gone with the Wind memorabilia since 1960, including collectible plates, dolls, movie posters, cardboard cutouts, and so much more. We set everything up on tables for the residents to take a look at, and they were amazed at how much was brought in for them to see.

Dianne played a trivia game with the residents, handing out gold coins that looked like confederate money to the winners. In addition, the ladies hosted a high tea for the residents, complete with delicious finger foods provided by our kitchen staff. What a great touch great little touches to go along with the theme of the day!

Our residents really enjoyed this fun event and seeing all the unique memorabilia that Nancy has collected over so many years. We can’t thank Nancy and Dianne enough for taking the time to come in and spend time with our residents and giving them a day they’re never forget! Take a look at pictures from the event below.
