Our mission at The Inn at Belden Village is to support our residents and keep them happy and healthy through the later stages of life. Many of our residents have experienced the loss of a spouse, a pain that many will never know. It's a beautiful thing when we can help each other through difficult times, which is why we initially started a Widow's Group with Mercy Hospice. Now every 3rd Thursday of the month we host a breakfast for our widowed residents. This month, residents in the group urged our very own Activities Director Debbie Brindack to speak. Debbie decided to speak on the topic of "How Laughter is the Best Medicine", a very fun and positive way of coping during hard times. Debbie is a natural comic, always making people laugh and smile, so the topic was perfect for her. Debbie shared the best stories and jokes that had the whole room laughing. That's truly the point of these Widow's meetings - to cheer everyone up and learn how to lean on each other for comfort. By the time the breakfast was over, everyone was happy and well-fed. These meetings are a blessing and it's so wonderful to see everyone smiling and having a good time. The Inn at Belden Village has a full schedule of resident activities to keep everyone involved and entertained. Check out the calendar to see what events you may want to attend!
