Alzheimer’s research is near and dear to our hearts at The Inn at Belden Village because many of our residents do suffer from the disease. Every year we hold various events and fundraisers to raise money for the cause, and this year is no exception.
The Inn at Belden Village staff along with family members of our residents gathered to walk together at the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s held at Jackson High School in Massillon, Ohio on Saturday, September 24. The annual walk starts off at Jackson High School with a starting ceremony where money is raised from vendors donating incentive prizes. From there we started off on our walk through Jackson Park where fun was had by everyone!
Thousands of dollars were raised by our residents’ families who walked, exceeding our total money raised from last year for Alzheimer’s research. We want to give special thanks to Joan Beaufait, one of our residents’ wives, who raised several thousand dollars with help from friends and family. We couldn’t be more proud of our staff and families and their dedication to raising money for this great cause.
The 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s as a whole was a complete success. There were over 800 participants in Stark County alone and the goal of raising $96,000 was one hundred percent achieved. We feel truly honored to have been a part of this amazing walk that will help many of our residents living with Alzheimer’s.
