What is National Assisted Living Week?
What is National Assisted Living Week? According to the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL), this special week “provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate the individuals they serve, as well as to help educate members of the public about this distinctive aspect of long term care.”
How Did The Inn at Belden Village Celebrate?
In order to do our part in celebrating the week of September 9-15, we hosted some fun activities for our residents and staff. What better way to celebrate than with food, right? We set up a taco bar on Monday, a baked potato bar on Wednesday, and on Friday we ended with homemade pizza and wings provided by our Executive Chef Joe Stranan in addition to a special talent show performed by some of The Inn at Belden Village staff. The talent show was full of dancing, singing and lots of fun and was thoroughly enjoyed by the residents.
Our Philosophy on Assisted Living
Here at The Inn at Belden Village, we recognize that moving to an assisted living facility is often a very difficult adjustment for senior citizens, no matter how necessary the change may be. It is our philosophy to treat our residents as if they were our own family members and provide them with the highest quality care. But we couldn’t do that without our compassionate and skilled staff members who dedicate each day to our sweet residents. We invite you to reflect on assisted living and long-term care and all the hard work that goes into maintaining a quality assisted living facility.
