Every year at The Inn at Belden Village senior assisted living facility residents look forward to our annual Christmas Party to celebrate the holiday with friends and family. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated activities director, Debbie Brindack, who worked with the residents for months to plan what songs they would sing in the Christmas program. Debbie and many other staff members, as well as the residents, pulled it off and made this year’s festivities some of the best we’ve had with over 200 guests in attendance.
The highlight of the party was our resident choir singing Christmas songs that they had picked out with Debbie and rehearsed for months in preparation for this day. As they sung, the choir had their very own snowfall during their carols. Residents and relatives alike were overjoyed seeing the big smiles on the choir members’ faces, and all their practice paid off!
As always, our resident chef Paul Forchione served our residents and their families with decadent hors d’oeuvres and a delicious meal that was just as wonderful as all of his meals are. It was heart warming to see our residents enjoying food and fun with their loved ones.
Of course it wouldn’t have been a Christmas party without a fun contest to partake in, and this year it was a Christmas Door Decorating Contest in which assisted living residents were given materials to decorate their door however they wanted. The winners of the contest with an adorable snowman door were Phyllis and Lloyd Dunham, and runner up was Connie Moore. We topped off the party with a sweetheart dance where last month’s senior spotlights Jim and Nancy Walker danced in each other’s arms dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Once again this year’s Christmas party was a success and was filled with laughter, friends, family, and food. It was wonderful to see everyone happy on this holiday.
