Senior Spotlight: Denny Cutlip
Denny Cutlip was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. He hails from a family of five with his parents, Clyde and Gloria, at the helm.
Denny’s bond with his mother was especially strong, and happiness was his constant companion, buoyed by the presence of a few close friends. His days were joyfully spent playing with trucks, engaging in various games, and constructing worlds out of building blocks.
Denny had an older brother named David, but tragedy struck when he passed away at the tender age of fourteen. Following this sorrowful event, the Cutlip family welcomed a new member, Denny’s sister Susan. He also has a younger brother named Dean.
Love and Life
Denny graduated from Akron East High School in 1967. Throughout his early adulthood, he kickstarted his working career by taking on diverse roles ranging from busboy and dishwasher to more industrial work.
Denny met his beloved wife at the Firestone Baptist Church. Their marriage, enduring for ten and a half years, saw them through both joy and sorrow until her untimely departure due to cancer. The two exchanged vows in 1984 and remained by each other’s side until 1995. She was the love of his life — her memory constantly in his day-to-day reflections.
Life at the Inn at Belden Village
While searching for the perfect community with his brother, Denny found his way to the Inn at the Belden Village. Johna welcomed him, showing him that he had finally found a place to call home. On May 9, 2022, Denny moved in, and since then, he has taken delight in the morning exercise class, scheduled activities, and wholesome meals.
Denny loves walking around, sitting outside on the patio, going to church, and spending time with his visiting family and the other residents. Above all, the opportunity to play gospel songs and his harmonica during live entertainment sessions brings him immense joy.
At the Inn at Belden Village, Denny is more than just a resident; he is part of our family. We can’t imagine The Inn without him, his music, and his love for life!
